The resident must meet the following requirements for employment at Beaumont Hospital as the PGY-2 Critical Care resident:
- licensed pharmacist or eligible for licensure in the State of Michigan (including controlled substance license)
- successful completion of a PGY-1 ASHP accredited residency
Longitudinal Requirements
- complete all scheduled presentations, including pharmacy noon conference (3 total) and pharmacy grand rounds (1)
- complete MUE or Medication Safety Project and present findings at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting or another national conference at the discretion of the RPD
- complete 2 of the following 3 projects:
- MUE (if not already completed)
- Medication Safety Project (if not already completed)
- complete
the requirements for submission for publication of a review article,
case report, drug information question or another project at the
discretion of the residency program director and steering committee
- complete the requirement for the Teaching Certificate Program at WSU if not already completed during PGY-1 Residency
- update and maintain residency binder
- maintain consistent documentation of interventions during both weekends and all rotations
- meets weekend staffing requirements for the entire residency year (every third weekend)
- support the precepting of Doctor of Pharmacy Students and PGY-1 Pharmacy Residents (if applicable)
- present 2 CEs to Pharmacy Staff (residency project results and another of resident’s choosing)
- present a total of 4 Journal Clubs to Pharmacy staff and 4 formal presentations to non-pharmacy personnel
- active participation in the Critical Care Subcommittee of the P&T
- achieve ACLS certification
- complete research project
